Newcastle Tap is a bar, pizzeria, and pub conveniently located along Neville Street, just across the road from Central Station. They opened their doors in 2016 and have been offering a massive range of IPAs, ales, and lagers since then. It doesn’t stop there, though. Newcastle Tap is also well-known for its beer-infused, hand-stretched pizzas and fun environment.

Naturally, we were excited to see everything this pizzeria had to offer. We’ll share our findings with you right here in this review.

Why Did We Choose Newcastle Tap in Newcastle?

Beer + pizza? We think, yes! At Newcastle Tap, guests will enjoy a wide arrangement of draught beers, ciders, cask lines, and kegs. Along with any beer you could imagine, you’ll also have access to beer dough pizzas made from scratch on-site. And, if you’re not craving a beer, they do have some wines and spirits to keep you and your friends going the whole night.

Not only is the menu at Newcastle Tap impressive, but its atmosphere is too. It has an industrial style with plenty of seating options and a beautiful bar. To top it off, the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They take care of their guests, ensuring they receive quality food, drinks, and service. If we know one thing for sure, customer service can make or break an experience. Fortunately, Newcastle Tap didn’t fall short when it came to taking care of their guests.

What’s on Offer at Newcastle Tap

There’s so much worth raving about when it comes to the food and drinks at Newcastle Tap.

Let’s start with what’s on tap. This pub serves 24 draught beers and ciders, including 8 cask lines and 16 kegs. Not sure which option is right for you? Ask the bartender to try some samples. They’ll be able to guide you through the process of selecting the right beer for your taste buds.

Once you nail down your drink, we encourage you to pair it with a slice of pizza. This eatery makes 12” and 18” hand-stretched pizza infused in beer. The dough is made fresh every morning using authentic Italian ingredients. And, the inclusion of the beer adds extra flavour and crispiness. Personally, we think they nailed down their pizzas when it comes to taste, texture, and looks!

Looking for vegan or veggie-friendly options? No problem. Newcastle Tap has this as well as gluten-free options. For good practice, if you’re allergic to any food, be sure to let the staff know before placing an order. Once you have your drink and pizza, all that’s left to do is sit back and enjoy. Cheers!

Our Verdict

We’d rate Newcastle Tap highly when it comes to appearance, food, drinks, customer service, and cleanliness. Not only do they serve the largest selection of beers in Newcastle, but they also stock up on wines and spirits for those who aren’t too fond of beer. And, their pizzas are clearly made using a wood-fired pizza oven. We have no complaints there!

If you’re looking for a crisp cider or cold beer, you’re sure to find one you love at Newcastle Tap. This hot spot has an exceptional selection to choose from. And, if you’re not sure what you want, their friendly team is always willing to help you decide. You may just walk out of Newcastle Tap with your new favourite beverage!
