Making pizza from home has become increasingly popular over the past few years. I remember trying to impress my friends and family with my pizza making skills. This was before I owned a fancy Ooni Pro Pizza Oven. Instead, I was cooking pizzas in my conventional home oven!

What I did find to be a game changer even while using a standard oven, was investing in a quality baking stone. This tool made the difference between soggy pizzas and crispy, perfectly charred ones.

Would I recommend a baking stone? Absolutely. Would I recommend this particular model? Read this Hans Grill Pizza Stone Review to find out!

Who is This Pizza Stone For?

This round baking stone is a great purchase for anyone looking for versatility. You will be able to make meals that go beyond pizza. Don’t get me wrong – it does a fantastic job baking pizzas. However, it’s also a good option if you want to make foods like calzones, breads, cookies, tarts, or baked goods. And because of the even heat distribution it offers, you can be confident they’ll turn out amazing every time.

Why Should You Buy This Baking Stone?

This stone is made from cordierite that absorbs moisture from the dough and cooks the pizza base evenly. This results in a crispy pizza like the one you tasted at that amazing Italia pizzeria.

It is also compatible with just about any appliance: oven, grill, or BBQ. When using, I noticed this stone heated up quickly. Considering the 1.5cm thickness this did not come as a surprise. Hans really did a nice job finding the perfect balance (any thicker and I would have waited hours for the stone to heat up).

I really love cordierite stones because of their durability. They are made to outlast several ceramic models as long as you’re using them properly. The pizza peel is made from quality natural wood, and while it’s small, it did a nice job holding the weight of my pizza.

Our Verdict

In a nutshell, I would recommend this stone if you’re looking for a model compatible with grill, BBQ, and oven use. The fact that it comes with a peel makes it a nice bundle deal for beginners. Say goodbye to soggy pizza bottoms and hello to crispy golden crusts with gooey cheese within every slice.
