As a pizza connoisseur, I am always on the hunt for the perfect outdoor pizza oven. My extensive research on the different types of wood-fired ovens has led me here: to the technological messiah of wood-fired pizza.

This Forno Buono Amalfi Pro Wood-Fired Outdoor Pizza Oven is the high-tech wood fired oven of my dreams. With a lot of the wood burning options, a lot of the heat escapes through the large hole in the front, meaning that a lot of the sought-after smoky taste is lessened.

However, the double skinned thermal lining on this oven means that more of the heat (and flavour) is kept in, requiring less fuel per pizza. And if you know me, you know that the less need for fuel, the more likely I am to make a purchase. I did not get into the pizza eating business to be constantly throwing wood into a burning fire.

Who is This Pizza Oven For?

This oven is perfect for those who enjoy wood-fired pizza, but not all the effort that goes into keeping a brick or stone oven fuelled up. Simply add in your kindling, coal, or wood and seal it up; the temperature gauge will let you know when to put the pizza in, and then you will have perfectly fired pizza before you know it.

Weight: 30 Kgs.

Dimensions: 37 cm x 50 cm x 1.63 m. It is a little more spacious than other ovens. This larger space will allow for bigger pizzas and for more of an option to cook other things like meats and bread. It is just the right size to be able to cook a large amount of food (something that is very necessary for a guy like me) without completely taking over my backyard.

Indoor/Outdoor UseThis oven is sure to make you feel like you have your own personal wood-fired restaurant in your backyard, which has always been a dream of mine. It is designed to be outdoors, as it will create a lot of smoke.

Colour OptionsIts design will fit in with your patio in a sleek and fashionable way. The matte black finish matches wonderfully with its stainless steel, giving it a clean and modern feel for your modern home. If you are not a fan of the silver and black, the other models come in a variety of different styles and colours.

Gas: This oven runs only on wood and/or coal, and it even has a rack at the bottom to store all of your fuel.

Where Can I Use This Oven?

This oven is perfect for patio use and will make your yard a social hub for all of your neighbours and friends.

What Makes This Oven Special?

Unlike many of the clay and brick pizza ovens, this high-tech model has a temperature gauge built in, ensuring that the oven is hot enough to put your pizza in at just the right time so that you can have perfectly wood-fired pizza no matter the weather.

Our Verdict

This oven is one of the best on the market, and it is definitely one of the most modern styles of wood fired ovens.

If you are looking for an all-inclusive buy, however, keep in mind that this oven does not come with all of the necessary accessories for pizza-making. You would have to buy your own fuel, rain and snow cover, and pizza peel to be able to enjoy this modern oven.

For those not worried about an all-in-one purchase pizza kit, however, this is one of the best deals on the market. It is certainly up there on my list of favourite wood fired ovens.
