Why Did We Choose Peter Pizzeria In Leicester?

There are a few reasons that we chose Peter Pizzeria over the slew of other local pizza spots. The biggest component that makes them unique is that their entire mission and reason for starting the business in 2013 was to “cure the injured name of pizza”. It’s safe to say that this is a hard mission to complete, but they have put in hours of hard work crafting quality dishes to work towards that goal.

Their dishes are made fresh every day to ensure that no one gets a bad pizza when they visit Peter Pizzeria. On top of all of the history that the building itself brings, there is loads of quirky artwork scattered throughout the inside of the building as well as upcycled furniture to add some soul to the venue even more so.

What’s on Offer at Peter Pizzeria

As far as the menu, there is a lot to unleash for those who have never attended. However, to avoid overwhelming you with all the amazing dishes, we’ll stick to the highlights. Each pizza is crafted with homemade sourdough that has fermented for 20 hours and is hand-stretched. When it comes to pizza dishes, the first job is to decide between red or white pizzas.

Try some of the most famous red pizzas, such as The Old 3, which is made up of tomato sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, salami, fennel, pistachio, and truffle oil or the Capricciosa including tomato sauce, mozzarella, artichoke, ham, black olives, and mushrooms.

Leaning towards a white pizza? Try the Rafaella made of basil pesto sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, Burrata, or the Caprese, including cherry tomato, mozzarella, rocket, parma ham, parmesan shavings, and olive oil.

Once you’ve decided on a main course, you can look at the starters to choose from. One of our faves is the Sparty which includes rocket, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, olives, mortadella, spicy salami, salami fennel, and parma ham. Perhaps you’d like to divulge on a classic such as Burrata topped with roasted peppers, salt, and black pepper.

Neither of these makes your stomach growl? Don’t worry. There is so much more to try. Perhaps you are leaning towards the Caprese Insalata with mozzarella, seasoned tomato, fresh basil, balsamic glaze, black pepper, and olive oil. Each of these options is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser for the entire table.

Our Verdict

When it comes to the finer side of pizza, you cannot go wrong by trying Peter Pizzeria. There is so much to enjoy with delicious food, culture and history, and a welcoming environment that will have you coming back time and time again. Lucky for all of us, there is enough on the menu to return plenty of times without having to repeat even one dish! Challenge accepted.
