The Suede Bar is full of exciting and unique qualities that made us fall in love as well as many others. This 1980’s inspired pizza spot is full of life, quirkiness, and flavour. Looking for an Instagram worthy spot for a night with your girlfriends? Perhaps a night to impress your significant other? Suede Bar is the perfect solution for your search.

Why Did We Choose Suede Bar in Nottingham?

We are always on the hunt for a spot that is unique. After all, there are hundreds of pizza spots in any city you visit. That being said, when we find unique features such as the Suede Bar’s specialities, we can’t help but explore all that it has to offer.

Another great perk of choosing the Suede Bar to satisfy your pizza craving is that it is a lounge bar. This means there is going to be a more relaxed atmosphere than your typical restaurant. Perfect for a cosy night with close friends rather than your typical table or booth if that is your preference.

What’s on Offer at Suede Bar

Now, let’s talk about the food. The most important part of a restaurant: food and drink! For starters, who doesn’t love a good cocktail to kick off the night?

Choose between one of their signature cocktails such as the Big Trouble in Little Manhattan. Bringing trouble to the classic Manhattan this cocktail includes Monkey Shoulder whisky and Cocchi Torino, with a little Eastern influence. It’s a stirred down drink, mixed with a little Akashi-Tai Shiraume Ginjo Umeshu plum sake, and finished off with a garnish of your future. How fun?  You can also try the Ting from Outer Suede which is an Old J rum powered beast from out the Suede Bar, mixed with some fresh pineapple and refreshing Ting.

Now that you’ve gotten your drink choice, let’s move on to the food. As to be expected, the star of the show is their pizza. However, they also offer some great starters, small plates, and desserts. For starters, choose between Bruttini, which is freshly baked dough sticks served with your choice of hummus, garlic dip, or olive oil and balsamic, and Garlic pizza bread, which has a garlic pizza base topped with rosemary.

For small plates, there’s quite a bit to choose from. Try the classic mozzarella sticks or some mac and cheese bites. Talk about comfort food. Or you can switch it up a bit and go for an order of green and black olives, sun-dried tomatoes, and peppers. Sprinkle in some healthier food before you dive into your pizza.

Now, the pizza options. Decide what style of pizza you would like: classic, speciality, vegetarian, or even vegan. For a speciality option, try chicken, gorgonzola, sun-dried tomatoes, green pesto base, and topped with rocket for a mouth-watering combination. For veggie lovers, perhaps you’d prefer garlic portobello mushrooms, blue cheese, spinach, and olive oil for your toppings. You can always build your own pizza as well to give a truly custom flavour.

Our Verdict

This spot is full of quirks in the best way. Don’t let the decor fool you, however. There is nothing but high-quality food and drink that will come from the Suede Bar. Go give this spot a try next time you are in the neighbourhood. Be sure to dress to impress. After all, the 1980’s themed decor is begging for a photo opp.
