The Dockyard Social was actually one of Glasgow’s world-renowned naval engineering facilities. More recently (2019), this industrial warehouse was converted into the social space it is today. It’s a large space filled with great food, drinks, and company.
It’s located off the bustling Finnieston strip, near the SEC, The Hydro, and the West End. While there is free on-street parking, it’s typically always full, so plan accordingly!

We chose The Dockyard Social to be on this list of top Glasgow pizza spots for two reasons: amazing pizza paired with a fantastic dining experience.
When you walk into this warehouse, you’re greeted by food vendors lining up around the entire warehouse. There is live music playing, a bar area filled with any drink you could think of and picnic tables taking up the entire middle section. This is the perfect spot for large groups or singles looking to socialise with others.
Entry is free for anyone under 16 years old, but if you’re older it’s five quid per person. Not only does this count towards your entrance, but you’ll receive a free drink when you enter. Talk about starting the night on the right foot!

What’s on Offer at The Dockyard Social
When it comes to food, you can expect a carefully selected menu. For instance, you’ll find traditional Thai food in one corner and authentic Southern American food in the other. The Dockyard Social is home to the best flavours worldwide paired with delicious alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
For this reason, you won’t notice a menu on their website. It rotates every couple of weeks, giving those dining in a different experience every time. However, note that there will always be vegan and veggie-friendly options like tofu, veggie spring rolls, or our personal favourite – pizza.
We will say that we were overwhelmed by all the food choices so we had to try a little of everything. However, on the two occasions that we stopped in here, we always saw a pizza vendor and yes, they had a wood-fired oven sitting in the back!
Before we go, let’s talk about drinks! We mentioned this was a great spot to go out with friends, right? You’ll find anything from craft beers, wines and innovative seasonal cocktails. Whether you’re craving a sweet watermelon daiquiri, pina colada, or some rum and coke, there’s something at the bar for you.
